Mr. Maskill joined the SaladLabs team as President in 2012 as an experienced entrepreneur and executive in the fields of technology and finance. Chris launched his high-tech career as an early employee of ProgressiveNetworks, then becoming RealNetworks (NSDQ: RNWK), in 1995. Following the successful launch of RealVideo in 1997, Chris left the company to start Activate.net, a pioneer the category of Content Delivery Networks. Activate.net was widely recognized as having built the industry’s first ASP (SaaS) built specifically for streaming media. Activate.net was sold in December 1999 to CMGI (NASDAQ: CMGI) for $65MM. In 2001, during the collapse of the technology-driven equity markets, Chris retained his role on the executive team and helped manage another sale of the enterprise to LoudEye (NASDAQ:NOK). In 2002 Chris went on to become Chief Executive of BuildersCapital an innovator in the builder-finance arena and retained that post until his recent departure in 2011. Mr. Maskill is a graduate of the University of Washington, father of four, and loves to ski, bike and run with anyone that’ll make the time.
